Tim Sherwood will be looking to put the disappointment of the FA Cup defeat to Arsenal behind him and focus his side to face a rejuvenated Crystal Palace, in a bid to heap pressure on Tottenham’s top-four rivals.
Tottenham’s humiliating defeats to Manchester City and Liverpool seem a lifetime ago, as Sherwood has completely turned Spurs’ fortunes around. He remains unbeaten in the league since he took over from Andre Villas-Boas, a Boxing Day draw with West Brom the only blemish in his otherwise 100 per-cent record. His side currently sit in sixth place, only two points off the top-four.
Spurs fans will be excited to see Emmanuel Adebayor and Roberto Soldado in tandem once again. Sherwood’s switch to a 4-4-2 has brought the best out of the pair, especially Adebayor who has scored three goals in four league games.
Crystal Palace have similarly enjoyed the benefits of appointing a new manager, winning two of their last three away games and pulling themselves to within a point of safety. The Eagles have recently put in some brave performances against top-half teams, losing only by a single goal, away to both Manchester City and Chelsea.
Tony Pulis will be hoping that Dwight Gayle continues his run of form. The young striker followed up his last minute belter against Aston Villa with another goal in Palace’s last league outing at West Brom.
