Jamie Vardy’s double ensured Leicester head to second-placed Manchester City this weekend with the chance to assert their dominance on the rest of the Premier League, but their manager Claudio Ranieri has already warned that the Foxes face a difficult task to secure the three points at the Etihad Stadium.
However, could Leicester actually beat City at their own game and play them off the park?
On last night’s evidence, you’d say it is very possible given the way Leicester are playing right now, and there was one phase that suggested the East Midlands side are Premier League champions in waiting.
Taking tiki-taka to a whole new level, Leicester put together a string of delightful one-touch passes to work the ball into the box, and it took a desperate last-ditch challenge from Mamadou Sakho and Alberto Moreno to stop Shinji Okazakigoing through on goal.
The phase of play was so slick that the foreign commentator was unable to keep up with who had the ball, as he repeatedly blurted out the names of Vardy, Okazaki, Riyad Mahrez and N’Golo Kante as he ball pinged between them.

Victory for Leicester in Saturday’s early kick-off could see them surge five points clear at the top of the table, and would leave the likes of City, Tottenham and Arsenal questioning what they have to do to knock them off top spot before the end of the season.
