From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

After being runaway favourites for what seems like an eternity Manchester City are now within touching distance of the Premier League title.

A win over bitter rivals Manchester United this weekend will see them crowned champions, the earliest such coronation since the inception of the Premier League in 1992.

Pep Guardiola's side have swept all before them this season scoring more goals, conceding fewer, winning more matches and lose less than all of their contemporaries.

Such has been their dominance the talk has turned to just how good they might be with many onlookers placing them in the rarefied air of the great teams of the past.

Are they as good as Jose Mourinho's first Chelsea team or Sir Alex's last great Manchester United incarnation of 2008/09? What about the City title-winners six years ago or even Antonio Conte's side a season ago? Are they even, whisper it, better than Arsenal's famed 'Invincibles'?

Check out the gallery above to see the top 20 best the top flight has seen, including where City's Class of 2018 project to fit in.
