From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Another weekend, another relegation six pointer. This is becoming almost a weekly occurrence for both Chris Hughton and Pepe Mel’s men. As we enter the 32nd weekend of Premier League action we find two of the key figures in this season’s race for survival battling for stability live from Carrow road. Despite both teams entering the weekends fixture outside the relegation zone, there is no doubt that they will both have one eye firmly placed over their shoulder.
Perched in 15th we find the Canaries. Despite the men in yellow sitting six points off the drop zone Chris Hughton will no doubt be telling his men one important fact, “We are far from safe”. Despite the player’s gesture to reimburse any travelling fans admission for their 3-0 loss away at the hands of Swansea last weekend, the Norwich fans will be fully aware the gift of three points this Saturday will be allot more treasured. The team from Norfolk have only picked up 4 points out of a possible 15, a more worrying stat for the Canaries is the fact that they have conceded 12 goals in their last 5 outings. Norwich will also be aware that after next weeks trip to Craven Cottage they face a battle against 4 teams in the hunt for Champions League football. In Norwich’s final 4 matches they will be entertaining Liverpool, Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal.
Coming off the back of a dramatic 3-3 draw and a changing room bust up we find West Brom. With news breaking that a changing room brawl lead to 20-year-old striker Saido Berahino picking up a head injury at the hands of teammate James Morrison, this is the last thing Pepe Mel would have wanted. The Spanish manger sees his West Brom side sat 17th in the table, only three points off the relegation zone. During there last 5 outings the Baggies have picked up 5 points out of a possible 15, conceding 10 goals on the way. In West Brom’s campaign for survival they will face Tottenham, Manchester City, West Ham, Arsenal, Sunderland and Stoke in their final six matches of the season.
