Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference. Both these sides come into this clash with unimpressive runs of form at the opposite ends of the table. Manchester City have just two wins in their last seven league games, and now trail Chelsea by five points, who also have a game in hand. Leicester have two wins in 21 league games, but only find themselves four points from safety.
It is clear neither side can afford many more slip-ups to achieve their goals this season. City, unless a magnificent turnaround in the league and Champions league, will end the season trophyless, something which will leave boss Pellegrini sweating over his job.
Nigel Pearson’s side will have hoped for more after a solid start to life back in the top tier, but despite impressive performances, it would seem they couldn’t buy a win because they simply don’t score enough goals, with only Leonardo Ulloa scoring more than three league goals.
Neither team can really afford to lose, and both need wins for different reasons, but despite the reigning champions struggling lately, surely they will get back to winning ways against the Premiership's basement team.
