From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. The visitors come into the game on top spot and know a win will see them go five points clear of Manchester City, who play at 3pm.

Liverpool will look to return to winning ways after a disappointing 1-1 draw away to West Brom last Sunday, where they failed to cement a decent gap between 5th placed Everton. Arsenal are the only side to thwart Liverpool’s SAS striking partnership in the Premier League this season, but will be wary after the two combined once again last Sunday.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain impressed for the Gunners last weekend, scoring twice from a central midfield role, and with Aaron Ramsey and Kim Kallstrom injured, he could start from the middle again. Jack Wilshere, who has been out since last month with an ankle injury, could return to play some part at Anfield.

When the two sides met in November at the Emirates, it was then a battle of the top two. In a 2-0 win, Ramsey’s wonderful strike secured the three points for the Gunners.

CLASSIC MOMENT/MATCH

Andrei Arshavin’s best moment as an Arsenal player came at Anfield in the 2008/09 season in a 4-4 thriller. His 4 goals massively dented Liverpool’s title hopes under Rafa Benitez, it could’ve have been worse had Yossi Benayoun not scored a late equaliser.
