Why aren’t Wednesday’s Premier League matches on TV?
Brighton host Crystal Palace while Brentford travel to Southampton, but neither game will be shown live in the UK

Your support makes all the difference.Wednesday’s Premier League action will see high flyers Brighton welcoming Crystal Palace to the Amex, with Roberto de Zerbi’s men looking to stay in the hunt for Europa League football.
Patrick Vieira’s Palace team have had a season of mixed results - despite a promising start - and will be anxiously looking over their shoulders as they are currently only three points above the relegation places.
Meanwhile, Brentford travel to Southampton looking to sew the seeds of their own European journey, with Thomas Frank’s men just one point behind the Conference League places.
The Saints come off the back of a promising result against Manchester United, although they sit bottom of the table and two points adrift of safety.
Despite intriguing match-ups and interesting background stories, neither game will be shown live in the UK.
Both fixtures were re-arranged as a result of the death of Queen Elizabeth II, but since neither were originally picked for TV slots they will not be shown live on UK television.
In addition, the main TV slots on Wednesday will be taken by European football. In the Champions League, Napoli host Eintracht Frankfurt and Liverpool travel to the Bernabeu looking to overturn a three-goal deficit in their tie. Both matches are live on BT Sport.
The Premier League games will kick off at 7:30pm , while the Champions League games will kick off at 8pm.
