From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. Two of the surprise teams of this year’s Premier League go head to head at the KC Stadium on Tuesday night.

Hull have been a breath of fresh air on their return to the top flight and are, of course, the last remaining promoted club to still employ the manager who got them up. Steve Bruce’s men beat Sunderland in an impressive 2-0 away victory last time out.

The Saints too have had a great campaign thus far, playing an attacking brand of football littered with young English talent. Last time away from St Mary’s, Mauricio Pochettino’s side swept away Fulham 3-0 and will be hoping for more of the same against Hull.

English trio Jay Rodriguez, Rickie Lambert and Adam Lallana have scored 25 league goals between them for the Saints and they sit a comfortable nine points ahead of Swansea in the position below them. Hull on the other hand could do with a spell of wins to secure top flight football again next year.
