Promising shifts from £5 million signing Tom Huddlestone and adventurous Egyptian full-back Ahmed Elmohamady showed glimmers of hope for what will be a difficult season. With the exception of Abdoulaye Faye and Stephen Quinn, Bruce finds himself with an almost fully fit squad to choose from.
Norwich City took their total summer transfer haul to eight players on Wednesday when former Bolton striker Johan Elmander signed on a season-long long from Galatasaray. Chris Hughton’s side contributed to an entertaining 2-2 draw at Everton – courtesy of late winner by Ricky van Wolfswinkel – but the Canaries will be in for a difficult contest at the KC Stadium, having lost seven of their last ten away fixtures. Dutch midfielder Leroy Fer looks set to make his Norwich debut after serving a suspension, and both Sebastien Bassong and Robert Snodgrass could both feature after missing out against Everton.
Danny Graham, who had a rather dismal Sunday afternoon in West London last weekend, scored against Norwich City as a Watford player whilst plying his trade in the Championship; Graham will wish to register on the score sheet as soon as possible, having now gone 17 games without a Premier League goal.
