With just one win in 12 matches in all competitions, Roberto Martinez’s Everton will be feeling the pressure to perform when a resurgent West Brom come to Goodison Park on Monday night.

Despite being knocked out on penalties in a thrilling FA Cup defeat to West Ham on Wednesday night, Martinez is finding the positives in his side’s performances. The Spaniard will be boosted by Romelu Lukaku’s goals in both Cup matches against the Hammers, as the 21-year-old was previously without a goal in seven outings. But the Toffees are just three points clear of the drop zone and a poor result on Monday night could see them plummet deep into the bottom half.

Their opponents, on the other hand, must feel they have reason to be optimistic. Under new boss Tony Pulis, the Baggies appear to have renewed belief and with Saido Berahino firing on all cylinders, West Brom have a potent threat to worry Everton’s leaky defence.

West Brom’s last away win came on 1 November when an Esteban Cambiasso own-goal was enough to secure the points but with Pulis now at the helm and Everton struggling to stay tight at the back, the visitors must fancy their chances in this finely poised fixture.
