Everton had equalled a Premier League record by conceding 10 goals in their opening three games, but they will expect to claim the points against a struggling Crystal Palace. Since Neil Warnock’s return to Palace, his side have managed two draws, perhaps still reeling from boss Tony Pulis’ sudden departure.
Another return – this time Wilfried Zaha on loan from Manchester United – has boosted Palace’s hopes following his lively displays against Newcastle and Burnley.
Everton may have some tired legs after their Europa League fixture against Wolfsburg on Thursday, but Roberto Martinez’s side boast the league’s second best scoring record this season, and they are sure to keep Palace busy.
