The Hammers may travel to Stamford Bridge with a nine point gap from the drop zone, but with only three wins in 2013 they will need to start improving if this is to remain.
The home side will be feeling confident after recently clawing back a 2-2 draw against Manchester United in the FA Cup and progressing through to the quarter finals of the Europa League on Thursday, however The Hammers will definitely be the fresher of the two sides.
The visitors came out on top in the pair’s last meeting seeing off Chelsea 3-1. Joe Cole scored against his old club in the 63 minute and he may be in contention for another starting place on Sunday. West Ham will be in high spirits after ending their nine game wait for an away win against Stoke last Sunday.

When West Ham travelled to Stamford Bridge on 17 December 1966, even the most optimistic of punters would not have predicted a five-all draw. The home side found themselves 5-3 down, but penalties in the 80 and 90 minute from Tambling drew them level. Chelsea went on to finish 9 in the 66/67 campaign, whilst The Hammers were a more lowly 16.
