Petr Cech has hailed Arsenal's team-spirit as "extraordinary" as he settles into life at the Emirates following his £11m move from Chelsea.
The Czech goalkeeper made what many are suggesting is the transfer of the summer when he moved across London, with his presence between the sticks at the Emirates making Arsenal arguably the biggest challengers to Chelsea's Premier League throne.
Czech believes there are many similarities between the clubs and has backed his new side to win trophies in the upcoming campaign.
When asked about the differences between the two London teams, the goalkeeper said: "Little details.
“There are a lot of things in common. What I’ve found is a group of players who work very hard and are focused on what they are doing on the pitch to get ready.
"I’ve found the team spirit quite extraordinary. Everybody pulls in the same direction, which is why I believe we will have a successful season.”
Arsenal finished last season 12 points behind Chelsea in the Premier League, a gap that they will hope to be able to close with the help of Cech. John Terry suggested the goalkeeper could be worth up to 15 points a season for whichever side he plays for and his performance in his debut in the pre-season friendly with Everton suggests the Chelsea captain could be right.
“If you have a game with two big teams it’s decided by the little details,” Cech said.
“In all those games Chelsea were on top we managed the little details better. I hope to be on the winning side again. It’s as simple as that. I play football to win games.
“We have a good balance. We have players with a lot of experience, who have won the World Cup for example, and young players who want to prove their point and play as much as possible.
"We have experienced players and hungry players so that balance gives us an advantage.”
Cech can expect to be in action this weekend when Arsenal play games against Lyon and Wolfsburg on Saturday and Sunday respectively in the Emirates Cup.
