Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Tottenham defender Chris Perry is expected to make his return from injury in the reserves tomorrow after two months on the sidelines. Perry, who suffered a slipped disc in the 4-3 White Hart Lane victory over Everton in mid-January, is eager to reclaim his first-team spot and help the club book a place in next season's Uefa Cup.
Glen Johnson, 18, who is now West Ham's first-choice right-back, has signed a new four-year contract.
The Middlesbrough defender Stuart Parnaby could miss a key part of his side's late push for Europe after tearing a hamstring. The 20-year-old full-back limped off 41 minutes into Saturday's 3-2 Barclaycard Premiership win at Leeds and a scan has revealed a torn hamstring which could mean a lengthy lay-off.
The injury will come as a major blow both to the youngster and his manager, Steve McClaren. Parnaby has been a fixture in the side since being given his chance when first-choice right-back Robbie Stockdale was sidelined in October.
