Sadio Mane came off the bench to break the deadlock as Liverpool defeated Norwich 1-0 at Carrow Road to extend their Premier League lead to an almighty 25 points.

Despite a much-needed rest over the winter the break, Jurgen Klopp’s side were not at full-throttle during the fixture and needed Alisson’s excellent intervention to prevent Kenny McLean scoring a breakaway goal in the best chance of the first half.

Liverpool continued to apply pressure and dominate possession in the second half, though, with Tim Krul making an excellent double save to deny Naby Keita.

However, they were almost caught out again by a snapshot from Alexander Tettey from the edge of the box, which crashed against the outside of Alisson’s near post.

But it was Mane, returning from a hamstring injury, who secured the three points and Liverpool’s 25th win of the season after turning two defenders and drilling a low shot past Krul. Click through the gallery below to see our player ratings:
