Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference. It’s a big game for…
Alex Neil and Gary Monk: The two youngest managers in the league are former Barnsley teammates. Admittedly Monk only played three games for the South Yorkshire side in the whole season. Neil did, however, come on as a substitute in an FA cup time against Bristol city in which Monk scored. Either way, if the fact it was a crucial Premier League game wasn’t enough, there will be a personal edge to Sunday’s game between the managers.
Best stat…
1: The amount of games Norwich have ever lost to Swansea in Premier League fixtures. Gary Monk’s side will be looking to turn this stat in the way of Swans this coming weekend.
Do you remember when…
Fabio Borini led Swansea to a three nil defeat of Norwich in a 2011 Championship game? No? Neither did I. But it’s the only video on YouTube so let’s all pretend it was the game of the century and enjoy the grainy highlights.
Player to watch…
Andre Ayew: The only player in either side to score five goals or above this year. If this is going to be the goal fest that absolutely nobody expects it to be then Ayew will probably be involved. Or at least let’s all hope that for the sake of the game he is; otherwise enjoy a wonderful 0-0.
