The decision to axe the former Spurs midfielder came despite an impressive record at White Hart Lane, but with Andre Villas-Boas and Harry Redknapp being shown the door in recent years despite decent records, it would seem there are high expectations on the manager of Spurs.
So who might be able to put a strong likelihood of a brief reign to the back of their minds and say yes if chairman Daniel Levy comes calling?
