From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. Arsenal star Mesut Ozil has been granted a mini-holiday by Arsene Wenger as the club prepare for the busy Christmas period.

The German playmaker, who has been in stunning form this season and sits top of the Premier League assist charts, took to Instagram to reveal he is currently on a break somewhere in the sun.

Ozil wrote the caption 'alwaysassisting' on one of the posts.

Given his background the southern Turkish holiday resort of Antalya is a reasonable guess, although it is impossible to tell from the pictures as Ozil is on a boat.

Arsenal's record signing has been in stunning form for the Gunners this year, with two goals and 13 assists in the Premier League.

No outfield player has started more than the 21 matches Ozil has started in all competitions this season and Wenger could give Ozil more time off given his history if injury problems.

Arsenal have suffered a number of injuries this season with key men Alexis Sanchez, Aaron Ramsey, Jack Wilshere and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain among the players to have missed time.
