The French right back damaged his ankle ligaments in Arsenal's 2-2 draw with Manchester City last week.
Debuchy himself hinted yesterday that he might need to have surgery. "No fracture but one broken ligament... I have to wait until Friday in order to know if I must have surgery.' he wrote on his Facebook page.
Wenger said in his press briefing today: "If he doesn't need surgery, it'll be six weeks. If he does need surgery, it will be three months."
Elsewhere, the manager said that fellow defender Calum Chambers, plus the versatile Mathieu Flamini are both available to return for the club against Aston Villa on Saturday, while Jack Wilshere should also feature.
"We have Chambers back, Flamini back. [For] Wilshere, it was his left ankle and it was only a kick. He is alright."
