From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

Adam Le Fondre says Reading's players cannot wait to face Wigan on Saturday after finally grabbing their first Premier League win this weekend.

Brian McDermott's side came from 1-0 down to beat Everton 2-1, courtesy of two second-half goals from Le Fondre.

The result not only saw Reading pick up their first three-point haul of the campaign but also moved them out of the bottom three in the table.

Le Fondre said: "We need to build on that result and look to go from strength to strength. We can't wait for Wigan next weekend now, we'll hopefully take this momentum up there with us. It's a massive relief for all of us.

"We've got the three points and it's a monkey off our backs as they say," he added. "It's a magnificent result for us. We've been working hard all season to get that win and we've been in some great positions so far this season and not finished teams off."
