Manuel Pellegrini could replace Gary Neville at Valencia when he leaves Manchester City at the end of the season, his agent has claimed.

Pellegrini will be replaced at the Etihad by Pep Guardiola during the summer, and rumours are already circulating he will move to Chelsea or Manchester United.

However, with Neville’s contract expiring at the end of the season Pellegrini’s agent, Jesus Martinez, said the manager could be on his way to the Mestalla.

“[Manuel] can listen to offers but it doesn't have to be Manchester United or Chelsea,” Martinez told Chilean radio.

“He will hear and analyse the proposals and then decide. There's no offer on the table.

“He spent five or six years 40km [from Valencia] when he was at Villareal. He lived in the city, has experienced the atmosphere and loves it.

“Pellegrini is open to all sorts of challenges. He's had major challenges such as Malaga, which was wonderful. We talk about projects, not whether something is beautiful or ugly, because who could say Real Madrid are not a beautiful club from the outside.

“But then we see it's not so remarkable when it turns into a coach shredder.

“The Premier League remains the most exciting for Manuel. He's had three wonderful years and he's crazy for that competition.”
