Everton visit Manchester United in the Premier League tonight as both teams pursue second straight wins in the division.

Everton fell to a 2-0 loss versus Newcastle last week before responding with a 2-1 win against Leeds, and United moved past a surprise defeat by bottom Sheffield United and a goalless stalemate versus Arsenal by securing a record-equalling 9-0 victory over nine-man Southampton.

As such, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's players come into this evening's game second-placed in the top flight with 44 points, three behind leaders Man City – who have a match in hand – while Everton are seventh with 36 points, having played 20 games in the Premier League so far this term.

Prediction

Buoyed by their 9-0 thrashing of Southampton, United will be full of confidence here. Everton are not in bad form by any means and should make this a competitive game, but the hosts will expect to have enough quality to take all three points. Man United 2-1 Everton.
