Manchester United vs Watford team news: Anthony Martial returns, Timothy Fosu-Mensah starts

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has handed young defender Timothy Fosu-Mensah his first start for tonight’s home clash against Watford.

The youngster made an appearance from the bench in Sunday’s 3-2 victory over Arsenal at Old Trafford.

Fosu-Mensah comes into the starting line-up in place of Michael Carrick, who is injured.

Anthony Martial returns from injury after pulling up with a hamstring problem before last week’s Europa League victory over Midtjylland.

His understudy, Marcus Rashford, retains his place after impressing with two braces in two games.

Watford make four changes to their side which played out a goalless draw with Bournemouth on Saturday.

Quique Sanchez Flores selects Allan Nyom, Sebastian Prodl, Jose Holebas and Almen Abdi in place of Juan Carlos Paredes, Craig Cathcart, Nathan Ake and Nordin Amrabat.
