From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. It’s a big game for…

Anthony Martial: The French forward looked set for a bright future at Old Trafford when he burst onto the scene at the beginning of last season, scoring in his debut against fierce rivals Liverpool. However, Martial has regressed this season and has been disappointing to the extent that he has been dropped by France and has not started a Premier League match since August.

Remember when…

The two sides went head to head at Old Trafford in September 2003 and played out a 0-0 draw, an extremely significant result for Arsenal as they went on to finish the season unbeaten.

After being reduced to 10 men, Arsenal then conceded a late penalty which Ruud Van Nistelrooy hit against the bar. Defender Martin Keown, who had given away the penalty, infamously reacted rather aggressively towards the Dutchman.

Player to watch…

Alexis Sanchez: Arguably Arsenal’s best player this season, Sanchez has thrived as the central striker of the Gunners’ attack, scoring eight goals and providing four assists in all competitions. The Chilean forward comes into this game on the back of scoring two goals in an impressive 3-1 win over Uruguay on Tuesday evening.
