While it will be a last for the Frenchman, it is a first for Alexis Sanchez, who will face his old club for the first time since his January move, and he is desperate to “put one over” on the Gunners, according to Phil Jones.
Sanchez was in Arsenal red when the sides met earlier in the season but after his swap deal with Henrikh Mkhitaryan, who could make his return from injury against his former club.
The Chilean’s arrival at Old Trafford has been slightly underwhelming, having only managed three goals in 14 games, although he did play his best game did come last time out against Tottenham Hotspur in the FA Cup semi-final.
And Jones is convinced Sanchez will continue this form on Sunday rather than be affected negatively by facing his old team.
Asked if it would be strange for Sanchez, playing against Arsenal, Jones said: “Not so much at home. If it was away at the Emirates, it might be a bit different.
“Going back to a place where he's very fond of, knows the pitch and the fans well.
“So, at home, it's a little bit different, but he'll still get that added incentive to try and put one over on them.”
