Your support makes all the difference.Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has “absolutely no concerns” over Paul Pogba’s immediate future at Manchester United and believes the midfielder will still be at the club next month.
Pogba claimed last weekend that a “question mark” remains over whether he will stay at United, having admitted a desire to leave earlier this summer.
Zinedine Zidane, the Real Madrid head coach, hopes to complete a deal for Pogba before the Spanish transfer windows closes on 2 September.
But Solskjaer saw nothing unusual in the player’s answer, telling journalists: “You always put question marks around Paul.
“I don't think it’s odd saying I enjoy playing, I have fun with my team-mates, I enjoy what I'm doing, I love my job and enjoy the game.
“Of course that sentence with the question mark about him, there's always question marks about Paul. There's not one press conference that I've not answered a question about Paul Pogba.
“80 per cent of what he said was that he enjoyed that game and his time here. [The other 20 per cent] is the question mark.
“Is he questioning you or are you putting question marks on him? I've got absolutely no concerns on Paul.”
When pressed on whether Pogba would still be a United player beyond 2 September, Solskjaer hesitated slightly, but still insisted: “For me, yeah he's going to stay.”
Marcos Rojo, one of seven senior centre-halves currently on United’s books, is more likely to leave Old Trafford in the coming weeks.
United are keen to offload Rojo, who made just six appearances last season despite signing a new contract worth £150,000-a-week in March 2018.
Everton attempted to take the defender on loan on deadline day but United held out for a permanent deal, valuing Rojo at £25m.
Solskjaer has admitted he has too many options at the back to keep all of his players happy, but did not rule out selecting Rojo while his future remains up in the air.
“Definitely. Why shouldn’t I? He’s had a very good pre-season,” Solskjaer said. “I think he’s getting closer and closer to the Argentinian setup as well, so let’s see what the future will bring.”
