Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is facing an injury crisis as Manchester United are likely to be without as many as seven players this weekend.

Paul Pogba, Jesse Lingard, Luke Shaw, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Anthony Martial are all doubts for Leicester City’s visit to Old Trafford on Saturday.

Those five first-team players, who would all be likely to start if fit, are joined by long-term absentees Diogo Dalot (hip) and Eric Bailly (knee) on the sidelines.

“The treatment room’s been busy and still is so we don’t really know who’s going to be available,” Solskjaer said at his pre-match press conference on Friday.

Wan-Bissaka and Lingard are struggling with a back injury and an illness respectively and may recover in time to play, though the United manager offered no promises.

Pogba is still feeling the effects of an ankle injury sustained in the 1-1 draw with Southampton before the international break and no hope of featuring.

“Pogba won’t be fit unless he’s had a miraculous recovery over night,” Solskjaer said. “He’s not been ready to do 100 per cent training.”

Martial missed the trip to Southampton with a thigh problem and remains unavailable.

“We hope more can be ready for West Ham next week and Paul and Anthony are in that category,” Solskjaer added.

Shaw, meanwhile, picked up a thigh injury prior to the international break and is likely to be sidelined for at least another week.
