Manchester United news: Ryan Giggs to announce his departure within the coming week - reports
The club legend is expected to pursue a new managerial career away from Old Trafford

Manchester United’s Ryan Giggs is expected to finally walk away from Old Trafford following weeks of speculation concerning his future at the club.
Senior club figures believe the 42-year-old will make his announcement in the coming week in which he will turn down the opportunity to work under United’s new manager, Jose Mourinho.
Mourinho will be bringing in his own backroom staff and, as a result, it’s thought Giggs would be demoted from his current position as assistant manager.
The club legend enjoyed three seasons in this role, under both Louis van Gaal and David Moyes, and had been earmarked by some as a potential successor prior to Mourinho’s appointment.
But against Jose Mourinho’s reputation and credentials, it was always likely that Giggs would be overlooked.
Giggs had never been given a firm guarantee that he would follow in the steps of Van Gaal but it’s believed he was nonetheless disappointed once Mourinho was revealed as the new club manager.
According to the Sunday People, Giggs has decided that his future now subsequently lies outside of Old Trafford if he wants to make a managerial career for himself.
Many of Giggs’ closest friends are thought to have advised him to leave United and seek out managerial experience at a new club entirely.
Other reports suggest that the decorated United legend will be taking a break from the game instead and will wait for the right managerial position as and when it arises.
His depature will bring to an end a 28-year association with the 20-times champions of England during which he helped United win 13 Premier League titles as a player.
