The French midfielder has been in imperious form since returning to fitness after lockdown, playing a key role in United’s winning run which has seen them move to within a point of the top four.
But Pogba expects far more than just a push for Champions League spots for a club of United’s size and pointed out that the chance to fight for trophies was the end goal, not just a run of unbeaten games.
“We are really pleased with ourselves but we know we have to carry on,” he told Sky Sports at full time.
“We talk in training that we have to carry on, that’s what Manchester [United] is, we’re a big club and we want to keep the level up.
“They are the standards of Manchester United – we didn’t win the Premier League, that’s the goal so obviously we have to keep working.
“We have two goals [left], to go for the Europa League and FA Cup so we focus and go for that.”
Pogba netted his first goal of the season to round off the win, but also reserved praise for young forward Mason Greenwood, who scored United’s killer second on the night.
As with the team, though, Pogba dampened that praise slightly with the expectation of progression—saying he would keep helping the teenager to improve.
“He’s very good. I enjoy to see [the youngsters at the club] play in training and the games. I will keep pushing him to be at the top; he can do even more than what he’s doing right now. He’s a talent and he showed he can play in this team.”
