Brazil international Douglas Maicon will not be leaving Internazionale in January, according to the club's director Marco Branca.

Manchester United and Manchester City have been linked with the 28-year-old former AS Monaco defender who has started eight matches for Jose Mourinho's side this term.

However, Branca has dismissed the rumours, telling Inter's official website: "There is a maximum belief from both the player and club in the actual contract situation.

"It's understandable that certain stories find space in the media during the international break, but the specifics which have appeared in today's news are non-existent."
