Manchester United have officially unveiled their new kit for the 2014/15 season after numerous leaks of the prototype emerged online.

A new era is about to begin at Old Trafford, with Louis van Gaal set to take over as manager after he completes his time with the Netherlands at the World Cup.

And to mark the new stage in the club's history, Manchester United have also unveiled a new sponsor - American carmaker Chevrolet - to give the kit a new look for the 2014/15 campaign.

The Red Devils had opted to stay silent following numerous sightings of the new shirt in the Far East in recent weeks, and it appears the designs are completely accurate.

But it appears the new shirt has not gone down well with the majority of Manchester United fans, with some describing the new logo as "horrific".

The unveiling of the new shirt follows a teaser video released by Chevrolet, featuring the likes of Robin van Persie, Wayne Rooney and club legend Sir Bobby Charlton.

Watch the footage below:

Manchester United will wear the new kit on the opening day of the Premier League season when they face Swansea at Old Trafford on August 16.
