Manchester City made just one change as they resumed their Barclays Premier league title quest at home to Southampton.

Aleksandar Kolarov came in at left-back for Gael Clichy in the only alteration from the draw at Arsenal, meaning Edin Dzeko was retained up front in the continuing absence of top scorer Sergio Aguero.

Southampton were forced to bring in Paulo Gazzaniga in goal following injury to Artur Boruc while Morgan Schneiderlin replaced James Ward-Prowse in the starting line-up.

Line-ups:

Manchester City: Hart, Zabaleta, Kompany, Demichelis, Kolarov, Toure, Fernandinho, Jesus Navas, Silva, Nasri, Dzeko.

Subs: Richards, Lescott, Milner, Negredo, Javi Garcia, Pantilimon, Jovetic.

Southampton: Gazzaniga, Chambers, Lovren, Fonte, Shaw, Schneiderlin, Cork, Lallana, Steven Davis, Rodriguez, Lambert.

Subs: Wanyama, Ward-Prowse, Do Prado, Hooiveld, Gallagher, Cropper, Clyne.
