Three top-flight managers were dismissed in the space of 12 days recently, with Mauricio Pochettino, Unai Emery and Quique Sanchez Flores all left looking for work.
Solskjaer is currently second-favourite in the sack race, behind Everton’s Marco Silva, after United’s worst start to a season in 31 years.
But the Norwegian is confident that he still has the backing of the club hierarchy, ahead of two critical fixtures against Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City, and attacked speculation on his future in the press.
“I’m good, absolutely no problem,” he said. “Sometimes you laugh when you read stories about what I’ve said and stuff, at least I know the sources are just made up, blatant lies.
“No, it doesn’t make me more concerned. I’m just focusing on my job and that’s just doing as well as I can, and look forward to the next game, and look long term, plan things with board.
“It’s that time of year, it’s never nice to see your colleagues lose your jobs – three in a very short space of time.
“Some of them, you can talk about VAR all day long, and I don’t know the reasons behind the sackings at the clubs.
“But one result, for example Soutampton-Watford with the handball, and we’re talking about something completely different.
“It’s a game of margins. Sometimes you have luck sometimes you don’t but it doesn’t make me any more concerned that it’s December.”
