Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference. Each week, The Independent will look ahead to the weekend's action in the Premier League with a video detailing five key things to watch out for during the matches.
Rather than just detailing what games are coming up or what our predictions are, every week The Independent's online sports writers will outline four areas to watch: what game to keep your eye on, the player to pay attention to, the story and stat of the weekend, and possible major upset of the weekend in a league where anything can happen.
Watch the video below to hear more about the build-up ahead of the Merseyside derby between Liverpool and Everton, with Brendan Rodger's side struggling to find their form from last season after two back-to-back defeats against the claret and blue of Aston Villa and West Ham. Liverpool and Everton have both only won one game so far in their opening five matches. Both could do with a win and yet Everton have not won at Anfield since 1999.
The other derby takes place in North London on Saturday as Arsenal - unbeaten in the league so far and yet with a string of injuries - face a Tottenham side who started the season promisingly yet have seen a dip in form of late.
Another game to watch out for is Manchester United against West Ham United. The Hammers have not won at Old Trafford since Carlos Tevez helped Alan Curbishley's side avoid relegation on the last day of the season in 2007, yet they will fancy their chances against a United side still reeling from their 5-3 loss at Leicester last week.
We also look at Burnley's shyness in front of goal and the emerging talent of Leicester’s Argentine centre-forward Leonardo Ulloa.
