A double from Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino in the 4-2 win against Burnley ensured Liverpool closed the gap on Manchester City at the top of the Premier League to one point.

Anfield was stunned into silence when Burnley took a shock early lead as Ashley Westwood's corner went straight in. Alisson appeared to impeded by James Tarkowski, but referee Andre Marriner and his assistant failed to see it that way.

Going a goal behind so early appeared to inspire the Liverpool players to attack without restriction and Jurgen Klopp's side quickly found themselves ahead thanks to strikes in quick succession from Firmino and Mane.

Liverpool continued to operate with complete control through the second half and added a third through Firmino after Tom Heaton's clearance put Burnley on the back foot.

The visitors, who are just two points above the relegation zone, caused Liverpool some nervy moments when Johann Berg Gudmundsson scored in added time, but Made quickly added his second and sealed three vital points.
