Liverpool’s players began a night of wild celebrations together at a hotel on Merseyside as Chelsea’s victory over Manchester City restored the Reds to the pinnacle of English football after 30 years.

The squad, with winners’ jerseys and champagne readied, were videoed sitting in an open-air garden watching the game live, with cries of joy erupting the moment the referee blew the final whistle.

Jurgen Klopp’s side’s success follows last year’s victories in the Champions League and Club World Cup, establishing the squad as one of the greatest in Premier League history.

Their final game came at Anfield yesterday - their first at home since the Premier League‘s resumption - with Liverpool thrashing Crystal Palace 4-0 to complete a relentlessly successful campaign, featuring just a single defeat, in typical and deserved style.
