Following Loris Karius’ arrival at Anfield in the summer, the Belgian has lost his No 1 position to the newcomer after three seasons as Liverpool’s first-choice ‘keeper.
The former Sunderland player admitted he had never been on the bench before and stated it’s something he’s not willing to accept.
“I've never been on the bench in my career!” Mignolet told Belgian television channel TV Limburg.
“I don't want that and I won't accept it either.”
Since signing for Liverpool from Sunderland for £8m in 2013, Mignolet has made 156 appearances for the Reds, including seven in the new term.
But despite making just one appearance since Karius’ return from injury, Mignolet has insisted he has no intention to leave the club in pursuit of first-team football.
“I will keep fighting to return as the first-choice goalkeeper,” he added.
“It's not right (to suggest leaving Liverpool) – that's for the future.
“I am fully focused on Liverpool.”
Mignolet made his last start for the Reds in their EFL Cup victory over Tottenham last month. His next game is likely to come in the same competition with Liverpool welcoming Championship side Leeds to Anfield on November 29.
