Liverpool are set to discuss a contract extension with in-form midfielder Adam Lallana.

The 28-year-old is enjoying something of a revival in recent weeks. He scored in Liverpool’s opening Premier League fixture against Arsenal and added another to his tally during the side’s 4-1 victory against Leicester.

Lallana’s current deal expires in 2019 but Klopp is keen to further tie the player to the club.

According to the Daily Express, Lallana is one of a number of players currently in line for talks over new deals.

Lallana joined the Reds from Southampton on the eve of Luis Suarez's move to Barcelona, but struggled to replicate the influence he held at St Mary’s.

For two seasons, the England international played a peripheral role at the Anfied, with the likes of Roberto Firmino and Philippe Coutinho outshining him.

But Lallana has excelled under Klopp and has already twice broken the 2016/17 record for distance covered by a player in a Premier League game.

He played an instrumental role in Liverpool’s 4-1 victory over Leicester and covered an impressive 13.1km throughout the game.

“Collectively as a team I thought we were outstanding,” Lallana said after the match.

“We got the two goals in the first half, but let them back in with some sloppy play from ourselves.

“It was no-one's fault and as a team we probably didn't manage the game as well as we should have at 2-0 and gave them a few sniffs.

“We said that at half-time and I thought in the second half we were outstanding again, on the front foot and got the goals at the right time.”

The Express has suggested that Emre Can, Dejan Lovren, Divock Origi and Alberto Moreno could also see their contracts extended, with their current deals set to expire in 2019.
