Reports suggest that the Reds were really interested in the 24-year-old striker, who was rejuvenated under manager Tim Sherwood, but his £32.5 million release fee is deemed as too expensive.
The Merseyside club have therefore switched their interest to Juventus striker Llorente and Sevilla sensation Bacca.
The Spaniard, who also attracted interest from Arsenal, looks highly likely to be leaving the Italian champions as they are set to sign Atletico Madrid frontman Mario Mandzukic.
The Colombian's case though seems more complexed as he costs £21.4 million and the Sevillistas insist that he is not for sale.
Llorente's price ranges to £14.3 million but there is also a good chance Juve could settle for less.
Brendan Rodgers is very keen to bring a top-notch a striker after a poor performance by last summer's signing Mario Balotelli and persistent injuries from Daniel Sturridge.
Benteke seemed like a great addition to the roster due to his young age, which is preferred by owners Fenway Sports Group, but Rodgers seems keen to add more experience after signing 29-year-old James Milner from Manchester City.
Llorente is 30 years old and has amassed 23 goals in 65 appearances with the Vecchia Signora whereas 28-year-old Bacca has netted 34 goals in 71 caps - he also finished as last season's fifth top scorer with 20 goals.
Liverpool are also looking to strengthen their defence with Southampton right-back Nathaniel Clyne who is already a hot commodity within Premier League clubs and costs £15 million.
