Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

Leicester City will thanks their fans for their support this season before Sunday’s final Premier League match against QPR after confirming their status as a Premier League club by giving every fan a free beer.

Supporters will be able to enjoy one on the house after the club’s owners elected to make the kind gesture to cap a season that has exceeded expectations for the Foxes. They looked down and out earlier in the year after a run of eight straight defeats, but manager Nigel Pearson took the plaudits for a brilliant transformation in form as they went on to win five games out of six, and the 0-0 draw with Sunderland last weekend confirmed their safety with a game to spare.

Home fans can redeem a voucher upon their entry to the King Power Stadium before 2.45pm on Sunday for a free beer or a bottle of water, and as club vice-chairman Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha told Leicester’s official website, they want to thank the supporters for their loyal belief that the club could stay up even during the hardest of times.

“We want to say thank you to our fans for their incredible support this season,” Srivaddhanaprabha told lcfc.com.

“Even during the most difficult times of the season, when everyone thought we had no chance, our loyal fans continued to believe and continued to get behind the team.

“Our players have been continually inspired by their support, which has been a key factor in the team securing another season of Premier League football.”
