Leicester City are deservedly eight points clear at the top of the Premier League with just three matches to play.

Claudio Ranieri's team have been brilliant from the start of the season, losing only three of their 35 matches and earning impressive victories at the Etihad and White Hart Lane, while only losing one game at the King Power Stadium all season.

However, it cannot be ignored that Leicester City have enjoyed some injury luck - especially in comparison to their main rivals. Some of that will be down to fitness of individual players and training regimes, but a large part is sheer chance.

The Foxes have only suffered 18 injuries to their squad this season, according to PhsyioRoom, almost four times fewer than the teams who have endured the worst injury luck.

The table doesn't take into account the length of injuries. For example, Santi Cazorla has missed 27 matches so far for Arsenal this season in two separate incidents and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain 18 matches in two incidents - both players count as two in this table.

Manchester City can still claim to have the worst luck in the Premier League, with 69 separate reported injuries this season. Club captain Vincent Kompany has been a high profile player who has missed lots of game time, 25 matches in all, because of three separate calf strains.

Joe Hart is the only City player to start more than 30 league games, and while some of that is down to Manuel Pellegrini rotating players, Ranieri has eight players who have started at least 30 matches.

In all City have suffered 69 separate injuries compared to just 18 for Leicester.

Stoke City's impressive start to the season was eventually curtailed by injuries, while Liverpool and Manchester United missing numerous players has been well documented.

Sunderland and Newcastle United have been much worse off than current relegation rivals Norwich City, with twice as many injuries.

Arsenal, surprisngly, have had the seventh fewest number of injuries this season, although key players such as Cazorla, Francis Coquelin and Alexis Sanchez have all missed stretches this season.
