From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

English champions Leicester City take on their Spanish counterparts Barcelona on Wednesday night in Stockholm as Claudio Ranieri’s charges prepare for one of the most intriguing title defences of recent times.

Following a 6-5 penalties victory against Celtic last month, after Riyad Mahrez scored a superb opener in a 1-1 draw last month, Leicester suffered a heavy defeat by Paris-Saint Germain at the weekend in Los Angeles.

With the Community Shield against Manchester United on the horizon, this Sunday at Wembley, the Foxes will first test themselves against Lionel Messi, Neymar, Luis Suarez et al at the Friends Arena in Sweden.

Speaking shortly after the 4-0 reverse to PSG in the United States on Saturday evening, Ranieri was optimistic and turn an eye to the future. “I think it’s a good experience for us,” he insisted.

42 mins - Leicester City 0 Barcelona 2: Ben Chilwell sprints down the left wing and hits a delicious cross first-time for Jamie Vardy but the former Fleetwood Town striker's header is glanced just over the crossbar. They're getting closer but this is proving to be another harsh experience for Leicester.

GOOAALL!! Leicester City 0 Barcelona 3 - Munir El Haddadi

44 mins: Another great break away by Barcelona as Luis Suarez plays a wonderful pass into Munir El Haddadi and the forward just has to slide it past Ron-Robert Zieler to make it three... before half-time. After the 4-0 defeat by Paris Saint-Germain last weekend, it could be even worse for Leicester tonight.
