From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. Fans began lining the streets early in the morning despite the players not taking to the open-top bus until around 18.00, complete with the Premier League trophy that the club lifted after their final home game at the King Power Stadium on 7 May.
Starting at Jubilee Square, the team made their way through the streets passing recognisable Leicester landmarks along the way, with thousands of fans lining the streets outside places such as the Curve Theatre, the Clock Tower and Gallowtree Gate.
Some supporters had enough space to follow the convoy of four buses along the route, although the players did stop along the way so fans could take pictures before they continued on their way.
Just two years since their last open-top bus parade following the 2013/14 Championship success, the club and its supporters were able to revel in their first ever top flight league title, having never won it before in their 125-year history.
Leicester South MP Jon Ashworth joined in with the celebrations, tweeting a picture from Victoria Park where a sea of blue was created after celebratory flags were handed out to those attending the carnival atmosphere.
