Leeds United host Sheffield United this afternoon as Premier League action returns after last month’s international break.

Leeds saw off relegation-battling Fulham 2-1 ahead of the top-flight’s two-week absence, while bottom Sheffield United suffered a 2-0 defeat by Chelsea in the FA Cup quarter-finals.

Marcelo Bielsa, having guided Leeds back to the Premier League last season, will hope to see his team enter the top half of the standings this weekend, while the Blades – whose manager Chris Wilder left the club last month – seem destined for the drop. Rodrigo Moreno could return for Leeds here, with Liam Cooper also available – having overcome a recent illness. Adam Forshaw and Pablo Hernandez are confirmed absentees, while Mateusz Klich’s participation is up in the air after the midfielder’s positive coronavirus test result during the international break.

Sheffield United, with Paul Heckingbottom in charge until the end of the term, will be hopeful of returns for John Egan, Chris Basham, Sander Berge and Enda Stevens. Billy Sharp, meanwhile, is expected to miss out altogether.
