Manchester United play Anderlecht next week, but Koller, who scored in his side's 5-1 Champions' League defeat at Old Trafford last month, is expected to be out until February at least.
Real Madrid secured their short-term future on Wednesday through a merchandising deal with the Spanish bank Caja Madrid.
The deal is worth 13,000m pesetas (£47.6m) to the cash-strapped club. It will involve Real and Caja Madrid exploiting the club's internet rights, as well as the image rights of the club and players over a period of 11 years.
The club will keep 80 per-cent of the proceeds, with the remainder going to the bank. Real's president Florentino Perez, who announced last month that the club was more than £172m in debt, said the proceeds from the deal would make up the club's budget deficit for the 2000-01 season.
"The forecast is to settle the (entire) debt this season," said Perez, who took over from Lorenzo Sanz this summer.
"The short-term problem is now solved and we're studying the situation over the medium and long-term. What I want is for Real Madrid to be the richest as well as the best club in the world."
The former Real Madrid and Hungary player Ferenc Puskas was in hospital yesterday in Budapest for a general check-up, a statement released by his family's lawyer said on Wednesday.
"Unfortunately, several misunderstandings have arisen in connection with Puskas's 'illness', and his family would like it known that he is undergoing a general medical examination," said the statement released by the lawyer, Andras Elias.
The statement provided no detailed information on Puskas's state of health.
