Sturridge will miss Liverpool’s Premier League trip to Bournemouth on Sunday with a calf injury.
Klopp used his pre-match press conference on Friday to address rumours the striker could leave Anfield in January amid interest from West Ham United.
“Unfortunately Daniel is not in training now and that is what I am more concerned about than any transfer rumours,” Klopp said.
“There is absolutely no thought to sell any player from the first-team squad. I don’t think it would make sense.”
Klopp also confirmed Adam Lallana has returned to training with the first team, but did not confirm whether the England man will be involved. The manager also offered cautious optimism on Roberto Firmino, who suffered a calf injury in last weekend’s win over Sunderland.
Klopp added: “Yes, there will be a few changes. I am happy about each player back in training. Adam is training, yesterday was the first session. We need to see how he reacts. Yesterday was quite intense.
“Roberto (Firmino) trained yesterday. Still a little bit of pain but not that serious. He came through the session and we will see how he reacts.”
