At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

Your support makes all the difference.Jonjo Shelvey has hit out at Liverpool fans who criticised him following his side’s 2-0 defeat against West Bromwich Albion on Monday night, with the midfielder taking to Twitter to vent his frustration.
The 20-year-old was making his first start since the Boxing Day defeat at Stoke, but incurred a rough time at Anfield and manager Brendon Rodgers hauled off Shelvey on the hour mark. Following the game, Shelvey received criticism for his lacklustre performance, and he reacted by posting a tweet aimed at those fans who were abusing him
Shelvey wrote: “Love people giving me stick… When half of people on here haven’t got a clue what they’re on about. #welldone #keyboardwarriors.”
The former Charlton Athletic player, who has a single England cap to his name, spoke just last week about how he had been made a scapegoat for Liverpool’s poor performances, culminating with him being dropped following the Stoke loss.
This latest outburst will not have impressed Rodgers, with Shelvey once again attracting negative attention towards the club. In stark contrast to Shelvey, defender Daniel Agger took to Twitter to apologise for his performance against the Baggies.
The Danish captain said: “I agree with most of you. My performance the last 10 minutes of yesterday’s game was NOT good enough. It’s as simple as that!!!!” He then went on to thank the fans that had pointed out his error that let Gareth McAuley score West Brom’s opener, perhaps demonstrating how someone in Shelvey’s position should react.
Having just bought a house next to his skipper Steven Gerrard, it may take a word or two from the current England captain to calm Shelvey down, and get the youngster focused on footballing matters rather than the distractions that surround him.
