During her week in the Australian outback Murphy, Kewell's wife, has revealed that he rarely watches football at home, enjoys an easy life and longs to play in Italy or Spain. Now, however, the Liverpool manager believes that with Kewell's fitness problems behind him and Bolo Zenden out for a month with a knee injury, the Australian international has an opportunity to allay the scepticism that has surrounded him since a £5m move from Elland Road three seasons ago.
Benitez said: "Harry needs to play well now to do the right thing for his future. That means he needs to be fit, to work hard and to be ready for each game... He is a professional, and I think it is important that he does his job as well as he can for the people who pay to go to the stadium and who support us all over the world."
Liverpool could go into the top four for the first time this season with victory in their re-arranged Premiership game at Sunderland tonight. "It is important to win these games in hand because they will take us into the top four and show our true potential," Benitez said.
