Jürgen Klopp is set to be unveiled as the new Liverpool manager this week, but has the former Borussia Dortmund head coach been spotted in the city already ahead of an early unveiling on Thursday?

Klopp looks certain to succeed Brendan Rodgers as manager at Anfield after the Northern Irishman was dismissed last Sunday, just hours after Liverpool were held to a 1-1 draw with Merseyside rivals Everton at Goodison Park.

Rodgers was in charge of the Reds since he replaced Kenny Dalglish in 2012, but after three consecutive seasons without any silverware, the decision was taken to sack him regardless of the result in the Merseyside derby.

In fact, Liverpool’s American owners, Fenway Sports Group, had decided the week before to make do with Rodgers and end his reign in charge. The availability of Klopp – who left Dortmund at the end of last season – is believed to have rushed that decision, while Carlo Ancelotti and Frank de Boer were other names in the mix for the job.

But Klopp looks almost certain to be the next Liverpool manager and one eagle-eyed fan claims to have taken a photograph of Klopp believed to be purchasing a car at an Audi dealership in Liverpool.

It's unclear whether the person in the photograph is Klopp as their face is obscured, and it was previously thought that Klopp would not arrive in the city until Thursday.

The Independent understands that Klopp will put pen to paper on a three-year deal after buying into the history and romance that surrounds Liverpool Football Club, and given his incredibly strong relationship with the Dortmund supporters during his spell at the club, he is set to be a firm fan-favourite with the Anfield faithful.

Despite the belief being that Klopp would be unveiled as Liverpool manager on Friday, the BBC is reporting that the announcement could come on Thursday, and adds weight to the argument that the man in the picture is indeed the future Liverpool manager. Should either prove to be the case, however, Klopp will have plenty of time to get used to his surroundings at both Anfield and their Melwood training base as the Premier League does not resume until after the international break, with Liverpool’s next game coming against Tottenham in the lunchtime kick-off on Saturday 17 October.
