Jose Mourinho is reportedly prepared to ring the changes should he take over from Louis van Gaal at Manchester United.

The Portuguese coach is understood to be in talks with club officials, with reports this morning suggesting that a deal has been ‘agreed in principle’ between the two parties.

Further reports, in the Daily Mail, suggest that Mourinho has already told United’s executive vice-chairman that he intends to sell Juan Mata and Marouane Fellaini, the club’s two chief signings from David Moyes’ tenure.

Mourinho, of course, sanctioned Mata’s move to Old Trafford. The Spain international was deemed surplus to requirements at Chelsea and cut a frustrated figure while under the Portuguese coach’s management at Stamford Bridge, eventually moving north for £37million in January 2014.
